Changes to De Minimis Import Rules

Important Update for US Customers: Changes to De Minimis Import Rules

What Is the De Minimis Rule?

The de minimis rule previously allowed goods valued at USD 800 or less to enter the United States duty-free and tax-free. This provision made small international orders—including those from Spiral Surgical in Pakistan—faster and less expensive for US customers.

Recent Presidential Order: De Minimis Rule Cancellation

Effective from August 29, 2025, under a new US government directive, the de minimis rule has been revoked for all countries, including Pakistan.
All imports into the USA—regardless of value—are now subject to standard customs duties, taxes, and border regulations.

How This Change Affects Your Orders from Pakistan

  • All shipments from Spiral Surgical to the USA, regardless of order value, may now be assessed import duties, taxes, and fees upon arrival.
  • Customs clearance may require additional processing time, as all packages are now reviewed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • The buyer/recipient in the USA is responsible for any applicable duties, taxes, or fees charged by US Customs.
